My Graduation Speech

Good Evening to all the teachers, parents, family, and to the Class of 2018. My name is Ricky Chirayil and I'm proud to be part of the Class of 2018. Thank You for being here today on this lovely day. I can´t believe the long journey that we have all went through together. Coming to Golf Middle School on my first day in 6th grade was quite scary. I knew that it´s usually hard to be new, but what I didn´t know was that this is Golf Middle School. Here in this community, everyone welcomes everybody and accepts everyone as friends. From my first day of school here at Golf to now, I can see that I have grown up for sure. I will miss all my memories here at Golf and especially hearing Mr. Atwood scream ¨Good Morning¨ as loud as he possibly can and Mrs. Conejo singing us all birthday songs. Now that I´m going to High School I can surely use the great advice my teachers gave me. Make sure you don´t fall asleep in class. Sorry Mr. Carro, Mr. Carris, and Mrs. Joyner for all that. Also never be late to class which I have gotten speeches throughout 8th grade by Mr. Atwood. Last but not least is to make sure to follow every shot I take which I better do for Mr. Gilman. 

I would like to tell all my future graduates to always remember that everyone is here for them and that Middle School will go fast so you should enjoy every bit of it. I hope all of you guys will have a great time and I hope the Class of 2018 and I can have a great time in high school. Last but not least I want to thank all my teachers who have taught and supported me and my family. I´m gonna miss all of you and hope you have a great time ahead for you.

My Food Story

Everyone loves it when they don´t have to eat food from home and can go eat outside somewhere. There was a time when all I wanted to do was eat subway for a week. It started in Monday when I asked my parents if I can have Subway and they said sure. I always get Steak and Cheese with a lot of vegetables. The next day there was nothing at my house to eat. My parents usually don´t like it when we buy food from outside many times. Since I kept on asking my parents they buy it again. I was just getting addicted to it and I couldn´t stop liking it. That´s when school ended the next day my dad picked me up and just went straight to Subway. He said why not eat it again. I was starting to get more tired of it since I had it for 3 straight days. The next day I was certain we wouldn´t have it but we just buy it again. I thought I would throw up. The next day I asked them if we can eat from home and we finally did.

Preparing for Parcc

Parcc testing is an important test and you got to make sure that you´re ready to take the test. It may be boring to take to take the test but you got to make sure that you prepare for the test. The first thing you should obviously do is take some practice tests. These practice tests will help you a lot. You should also ask your teacher and make sure you clear any doubt that you have. Another thing that you gotta make sure is that you don´t sleep late. If you do then you´re just gonna feel sleep during the test. You can´t be on any electronic devices late. This all affects your sleeping. In the morning you should eat a healthy breakfast and you will do great on the test.

Diary Blog

Dear Diary,

Today we left to go to India. I was quite happy to leave because I found out that I would miss a couple weeks of school and that I wouldn't have to do my science project. I woke up early morning that day along with my family. Many days of packing would finally be payed off and I would finally get to rest up to go to vacation. My uncle drove to our house to pick us up and finally we were about to head out. 

We finally arrive at the airport and say our goodbyes. Once we're in the play all we do is basically just watch movies. Once we get to the airport in India we're informed that one our luggage is missing. We were completely stunned and then after a week we got it back. We were all delighted to see it and were ready to enjoy the vacation.

Home

Everyone who has a home loves their home. A home is necessary for everyone. To me a home is a place where your family is with you. I don't think you can say a certain place is your home if your family is not there with you. To have a home the number one most necessary thing is to have a family there with you. It's not really a certain place, it's the place where you have your beloved ones with you. More than one place can be home as long as your family is there. Every place that you go to is gonna be your home as long as you have the comfort that your family will be there. My home is my family because you should be safe in your home and I'm always safe with my family.

This picture helps understand my life because it shows a basketball court. Basketball has been my favorite sport and I don't know what I would do without it. Ever since I was a kid I fell in love with the game of basketball because it's just my passion and I love playing it. This sport means a lot to me because whenever I'm upset I just play basketball and feel a lot better. I've done many basketball leagues and these leagues have helped me develop my basketball skills. 


This picture is supposed to represent my cousins. I have probably a million cousins because my family is big and I'm close to every one of them. I hang out with my cousins a lot and we usually have family parties once in a while and I get really happy to see them. We've all been really close since we were little and we always laugh at pictures of us from when we were little. To end they mean so much to me and I don't know what I would do without them.

Creative Short Story

Someone must have seen him, because the police were at his door. They rang his doorbell and he took quite a while to open. Then finally he opened the door. He had a worried look in his face like anyone would if they saw the police.
         "We have gotten information that you were the one who robbed the house on the other street"
         "It's not me this is not true. I've known them for a long time and we've been really close friends. I would never do something like this to them.
         "Well we're going to have to check the house to see if we can find any money or jewelry of theirs that went missing."
         "I won't let you check my house." Te officer pushes him and his obedient helpers watch him and guide him making sure that he doesn't get hurt. They look all over the front floor and don't find anything. The officer knew it would be in a tough spot. After checking the top floor as well, he still came down empty-handed.
         "I told you, why did you even think it was me?"
         "We got information from a kid at the house saying he saw you." He made an even more worried face. As the officer was leaving, he tripped and hit the ground and saw that there was a underground path.
         "You don't have to check that it's important things" he screams. The officer continues and comes back up with all the stolen things.
         "You are under arrest" he screams. Like that the family gets everything back and the robber goes to jail.

Free Post Of The Week

If I could spend more time engaged in something it would be on basketball which is my favorite sport. I would want to train for this sport to get better. This is a sport which I'm already engaged in. By training more for this then I can get better and it would be easier for me. One thing I would have to trade in order to play basketball more is family time. If I wanted to play basketball more, then I would have to reduce the time I spend with family and friends. The biggest problems I have about this activity would probably me shooting and people to play with. I don't always get to ball with someone else. What motivates me to play basketball is other basketball players that play professionally. I always watch them and wonder how it would be, being in the same position as them. I always want to be able to score and help others for basketball so I want too get better at it. I've been playing basketball since I was young and I always don't have the time to play it. I do play basketball in leagues and I do go with my friends a lot to play as well. I think that this would be the best activity to be more engaged in this year.

My Movie Review

Don't you guys just love horror movies? Do you also like watching movies with clowns in it? If you do love horror movies, then you should watch the horror movie "IT." The movie starts with a boy named Georgie getting taken by a clown. This clown comes every 27 years to take children away from the town. Knowing this, Billy, Georgie's brother thinks he's alive and believes something else happened to his brother. Billy along with all his friends try to find out what happens and tries to save his brother and bring him back. The one thing is that they don't know where "IT" lives and they need to find it. Along their way, they all encounter a moment with the clown and they all feel as if this is a bad idea. They finally locate the place where "IT" lives and decides to go and search there. At the place, Billy's friend Eddie gets hurt and breaks his arm. Eddie decides not to help Billy anymore because he gets scared from his first experience. Billy still doesn't give up and knows that it's just trying to make them split apart. At last Eddie and and the friends that left Billy come back to help him solve all this. Watch the movie to see how Billy and his friends solve this problem. If you love horror movies, then you will for sure love this movie.

Christmas

Christmas is a holiday when everyone gives each other gifts. People always want certain gifts and they love getting other people gifts as well. The reason everyone loves Christmas is because everyone gets gifts and they are able to give gifts and make others happy. Thte purpose for this is to know what gifts to get for others and what gifts you want to get for others.

1. I would want a ps4. The reason this would give me so much joy is because I would be able to play whenever I want wit friends and when I'm bored I can just sit down and chill.


2. I would also want to get a basketball court to myself. The reason this would give me so much joy is because I really love basketball and it would be amazing to me to play whenever I wanted.


3. Another thing I would want to get is my own laptop. This would give me a lot of joy because I love doing things in my moms laptop but I don't have my own. So getting one all for myself would be better.


4. Something I would like to give for the holiday is chocolates. The reason this would give someone joy is because most people love chocolate and always want to eat it. It makes them really happy.


5. Another thing I would want to give someone is gift cards. Everyone loves gift cards because it for a store and they can just go buy something with it. This would give the person a lot of joy.

Perseverance Blog

Perseverance has always been a big thing for me. I used to play basketball really bad and I wasn't really able to do anything. I knew I had to get better and my coaches would tell me that also. so that's when I decided I actually wanted to get better and be able to do something. I would go to the gym and play basketball and i would also ask my coaches if they would be able to help me. There was also a lot of obstacles that got in the way during this. There were times when my parents couldn't take me or there would be times when I had no time. But if I wasn't able to play in a gym then I would do exercises at my house or play at the park that was near my house. This all helped and everyone noticed that I was getting better at basketball. This helped me to realize that I wouldn't get better at all if I didn't try or practice.

My Gratitude List

As I was ready to eat dinner with my family, I realized how lucky I am to be able to have a family that loves me and how thankful I am for all of them. I looked around and was thankful for all the things that have been given to me and that i should be happy for all of it.

1. I'm thankful for the money my parents make and their financial state. We get the money to get all of our things.

2.I'm thankful for my family because I love them and they love me as well and keep me happy.

3. I'm thankful for all the food that I eat and keeps me full.

4. I'm thankful for a home to keep me warm and cozy.

5. I'm thankful for the game of basketball which keeps me happy.

6. I'm thankful to be in school so I can get good education.

7. I'm thankful for all the friends I have to keep me happy.

8. I'm thankful to have a big extended family to keep me happy.

9. I'm thankful to  be able to use technology.

10. I'm thankful to have everything I need for daily use.

My Binge

Everyone has a good Binge and I would say mine is a favorite food. I really love pizza and I love eating it. I eat pizza usually once or twice a week. My favorite topping for my pizza is sausage because I'm a meat guy. Usually when I go to parties we usually get pizza also so that's something I like. We usually buy our pizza from Little Ceasars. But I like pizza from anywhere. 

My Outsiders Comparison

I think one character I can make connections with is Sodapop. Sodapop has a really good heart and he loves everyone close to him. I would say I'm a family guy just like Sodapop is. I have many cousins and they're all really close with me and I love them all. I also love my parents a lot as well as my siblings. I also think Sodapop thinks a lot about other people's feelings and he cares for everyone. I also care for my closed ones so I would be protective of them. Sodapop cares so much about Ponyboy and all of his close greasers.  

Family-Free blog of the week

In my family I am the youngest one. I have three other siblings and one of them is in college while the other two are in high school. II have many cousins as well because my extended family is really big. I have more than 100 cousins and I´m really close with most of them. Some of my cousins don´t live here. They live in India with my dad´s brother and mom. My grandma visits us usually once a year and stays here for about two months. I really like spending time with my cousins and they live really close to me so we hang out a lot.

10 years from now

10 years from now, I will be 23 years old and I will be out of college by then. I know college is going to be hard so I´m hoping to get some sort of scholarship. I want to either get a basketball scholarship if I can get one or an academic scholar.

10 years from now I want to live in Chicago. I´m hoping to get married and get a good job. If i ever get an opportunity I would want to go play basketball professionally. It has been my dream to but if it doesn't work out then I would just want to get become an engineer or something like that. I would want to live close with my family because they raised me and I would want to stay with them.

My Idenity

Hello, my name is Ricky and I'm in 8th grade. I go to Golf Middle School and I live in Morton Grove. My favorite thing to do is play basketball and I started playing since I was 6. It feels really relaxing for me. I play in leagues for basketball and it is really fun.I also really like football and really enjoy watching it. I hope to get really far in my life with basketball because I enjoy it that much.

Memory Lane

When I was 5 or 6 years old, My mom brought me to party city for me to get a costume. I got the costume I wanted and my mom told me that she had a coupon with her also. The coupon would only work if you bought items worth of $20. The costume was $17 so my mom told me to quickly go get something cheap. I went and grabbed a really small stuffed animal that I really liked. We bought it and I was really happy. I named the animal Froggy. That's when in one of my family parties, my older cousins all went to my room and they locked the room and was just talking. My brother was with them as well. One of my cousins were sad about something and my other cousin started making fun of him. That's when he took Froggy and threw him at my other cousin. I never found Froggy after that but I think he made me into a lot happier person.

Passion

Ever since I was 6, I've been playing basketball. This is something I'm really passionate about because I feel really relaxed when I play this. Basketball has been my favorite sport in my life. I love the game of basketball so much and that's why I became really close with it. I do many basketball leagues and it is really fun for me. In conclusion, I really love the game of basketball.
